Many of us are worried about what to tell our children about this Covid 19 virsu. My grandson taught me a lesson on Monday. Their beloved grandfather had passed away on Easter. While they were at the viewing, my 5 year-old granddaughter ask her mother, "Why did grandpa have to die?" We had talked about my parents, grandparents and sister having gone to live with Jesus earlier before grandpa's death. So I was already to have my daughter tell her about Jesus taking the best home to live with Him. I was interrupted almost before I began... My grandson answered the question very simply, " Grandpa's heart broke." Grandpa had died when the aorta valve exploded, killing him instantly. KISS (keep it simple stupid}.

I started thinking about the past... I have lived through the space race, the Cubian Missile Crisis, the assination of JFK, the Cold War, Vietnam, the Watts riots, 911. All of these except 911 were experienced as a child or teenager living at home with my parents. However, I never felt afraid because of the love they showed me, their faith in God and His loving oversight of our family. We watched the news and talked about it and our fears. They were there to guide us. So don't worry about what to say ,to your children weither it is the Covid 19 virus, drugs, or sex... KISS. The answers they are looking for depends on their age and usually only requires a short answer, reassurance and love.

Your NIV Bible reading for today is Romans 5:1-5

1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
